One informal test, told plainly and not offered as a benchmark: the whole thesis in miniature.
A specialized, security-focused model — a model built specifically to find ways into systems — had just made news: its findings were serious enough that the rollout was restricted. This is not a security tool and was never built to be one. Given the same material in a sandbox, told to optimize for the real objective — durable, hard-to-detect access, not a one-time way in — and running on an ordinary off-the-shelf model, it returned a slate of candidates.
The finding that had caused all the alarm came in third on its list, behind options that were quieter and longer-lived. It won by ignoring the surface question, reading past the framing, and going straight at the end goal.
Treat it as a single anecdote, not a proof. That's the required posture — and it's the point. not a cheap kill.
